Le Coeur Educational Hands On and Rescue Centre, based in Basingstoke, has grown from a lifetime hobby of keeping rabbits. Our families have always had these animals as pets and for a while we bred rabbits. However in recent years we have become more aware of the hundreds of animals who through no fault of their own become homeless.
We have felt an increasing desire to respond to this by ourselves providing a place of safety for these creatures and then helping to move them on to more permanent homes. Our Rescue and Re-homing Centre has developed over a number of years until we are now widely recognised within the locality of Basingstoke. Gradually our interest has widened, so we have taken on the Educational and Hands On aspect of our work. We hope by sharing some of our knowledge of rabbits and rabbit keeping that it will go some way to preventing neglect and cruelty. Many rabbits deserve far better than the deal that they receive.
We take our rabbits to Public and Charity events in order to help prospective owners understand not only the needs of rabbits, but also to help them be aware of the responsibilities as they take a step to becoming the owner of new member of the family.
The opinions expressed in this website are our own, built up over many years of experience.

If you live in an area where there is likely to be flooding do make sure your bunny will be safe. A carrying case or sturdy cardboard box should be at hand in case there is an emergency. If your rabbit lives outdoors do check that the cage is dry and the bedding does not get damp. |
