Our own rabbits

Back to Homepage

As well as providing emergency homes for the rescue rabbits and maintaining our Hands On Team, we also do have a number of rabbits which are our own, kept purely for the companionship that they provide.  Some have been with us for many years, others have become special for a number of reasons and some have just taken their places within our hearts.  But each and every one is loved and is an important member of our family.

Meet these SPECIAL ONES...

Peter

Peter the agouti Cashmere had been a member of the Hands On Team for many years.  Having retired he is now one of our own bunnies. He was much loved by the children when he was taken out as he resembles a cuddly, fluffy teddy bear!

Florence

She is a blue Lion Head who used to be one of our Hands On bunnies - much loved by the children who loved giving her hairstyles!

Cookie

He used to be one of our Hands On bunnies - loved by everyone because of his colour and the texture of his Rex coat.

Sweep

Retired from the Hands On Team to help educate the students with us on Work Experience.

His son Rainbow has taken over his father's place in the Hands On Team

Sampson

The reason we fell in love with BIG BUNNIES!

Winky

Female Sooty Fawn Dwarf Lop

She has  only one eye and came to us as a Rescue  via someone who rescues animals.  She has something quite special and has worked her magic on us...

Bluebell is our new blue mini lop doe .
She is so beautiful and friendly, such a deep blue.

Danielle is our new French Lop doe.  There is something special about the French...
Isit is our stunning beige boy.  A handsome lad who has turned many heads on his days out - rabbit and human!  We had to fight to keep him alive when he was a youngster, since he had severe gastro-enteritis that almost cost him his life.
Sky is a blue dwarf lop. He has the biggest, baby eyes that you can imagine and everyone who sees him falls in love with him.
Snowball is a retired Hands On bunny.  He is sweet natured and soppy. Soon Hannah will be using him for her first attempt at clipping nails on her own because he is so quiet and calm.

Cuddles, by name and by nature, is another retired Hands On bunny.  He is an opal butterfly, so sweet and loving that he too has a permanent home with us.
Smokey came to us as a frightened and aggressive rescue rabbit.  She took many weeks to turn around, building her confidence bit by bit, until she has become a delight.  She loves her cuddles, hence her name!  By the time she became suitable for re-homing, we had grown so fond of her we decided that she is staying!
Sooty, named after her Sooty Fawn colouring, is one of the gentlest and softest natured does imaginable.

She is a wonderful mum.  Her babies can be seen on See How We Grow.

Morning Mist, or Misty for short, is a very welcome addition to our family.  Since we lost Dawn we have been waiting for a replacement fawn doe.  Here she is at last...
